Dazzling Dakota Johnson was originally two separate sites, I Heart Dakota at dakotajohnson.org which opened on October 5, 2020 an was maintained by Elise and Dazzling Dakota Johnson at dakota-johnson.net which was an upcoming Dakota Johnson site being built by myself (Mel). During February 2021, Elise stepped down from running I Heart Dakota and I acquired the site from her and commenced merging the sites together. I was quite attached to the name Dazzling so chose to keep the name whilst retaining dakotajohnson.org to retain the legacy of I Heart Dakota. Dazzling Dakota Johnson was officially unveiled on February 27, 2022.

So why am I a fan of Dakota? Well apart from her being incredibly talented as an actress, I admire her boundless passion – she gives her all on everything she does, whether it be acting, producing or advocating for animals. Further, despite her superstar acting roots, she has not let that go to her head, she is incredibly humble and hard-working. Frankly, I think she is an all-round incredible human-being. I first saw Dakota in The Social Network (2010) – her role may have been small, but she caught my attention and made a point to watch her in future projects. I have loved everything she has been in, but if you have to make me pick: Fifty Shades Trilogy – Grey, Darker and Freed (which frankly for me made the books more readable!), Need For Speed (2014), A Bigger Splash (2015), How to Be Single (2016) and The High Note (2020). I built the site because I wanted to share not only my admiration for Dakota but also create a comprehensive resource of news, information and photos to promote Dakota’s career.
